In my relentless quest for The Truth, in the service of my loyal readers, I finally managed to go to the Erotic Art Museum in St. Petersburg/Russia (website at prostata.ru!). It is really a “center for prostatology”, that is it is both a museum and a doctor’s office. This makes for a really strange experience, since as a visitor, you can’t avoid staring at the people waiting for the doctor there … well, after 8 p.m. it’s only open for patients, so they actually have a choice, I guess.

To me, the whole thing seemed a lot like both a institutialized dirty joke, with lots of “funny” frivolous statuettes and pictures and stuff. You have to admit it’s a briliant way of making extra money off an already well-running doctor’s office. At least, you get a souvenir for your 100 rubles entry fee.

It turns out, even most locals have never heard of the thing. So the whole thing seems entirely unimportant. Nothing really interesting, until … (put away the children, it’s getting ugly) … you come across (or so they claim) the cut-off penis of Rasputin himself! Now this Rasputin fellow seems to have been quite a fascinating character (check out the Wikipedia article!), and here is his dick in a glass! It’s 24 cm non-erected, though I don’t want to know what it has been put through. I almost had to throw up (again, but that’s another story), so only look at the following picture if you’re into shocking images and have a strong stomach!
